Whaddya Hear, Whaddya Say?

It’s been a long while since the last post, admittedly too long. I’ve plenty in the pipeline, so never you worry.

Meanwhile, we’ve seen too many of our actor friends leave us. One in particular is Tony Sirico. A journeyman actor, Tony played many characters, mostly mobsters and probably most notable as Paulie “Walnuts” Gualtieri in The Sopranos. And what a character he was! He never seemed to hesitate to make fun of his own tough-guy persona. He derived his inspiration from James Cagney, the renowned actor, famous for many tough-guy roles, perhaps most notably Rocky Sullivan from the movie Angels With Dirty Faces. This clip, of Paulie returning from a brief stint in jail, has him quoting one of Cagney’s famous lines. I have no doubt that when the great Mr Sirico entered the afterlife, he was greeted by a party of his friends, and said the same thing to them that he says here.
